Legend Healthcare™ is very excited about the completion of the new 20-bed unit at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, in Euless, Texas. President and Chief Operating Officer Martin Tomerlin indicated that the decision to expand the facility’s capabilities was borne out of what Legend sees as a vital component to accommodate a dynamic client base. Tomerlin stated that “a large part of the service that Legend Healthcare™ provides is that of long-term care or what most would understand as nursing home care and while our services in that area are exceptional we also have been pioneers with transitional care.
This level of care focuses on returning an individual to their prior living arrangements through customized therapy programs and comprehensive clinical interventions. The time a patient spends at one of our facilities in this model of care is substantially shorter. The new unit at our Euless facility has 20 private rooms, a therapy gym specifically dedicated to the unit and its own entrance. This unit provides patients with the feel of a rehabilitation hospital setting which is important due to the fact that the first baby boomers are now becoming Medicare recipients and we are seeing a younger demographic of patients. We now offer the short-term patients an environment that is completely separate from the traditional nursing home area.”
